About Our Beef

We believe great beef starts long before it reaches your plate.

Our cattle are pasture-raised, spending the first 20 months grazing on grass growing at a natural pace. For the final 180 days, they’re finished with local grown grain to develop unbeatable flavor and tenderness.

We don’t use hormones or antibiotics: just time, attention, and a commitment to raising quality beef.

Because when you know how your food is raised, it just tastes better.

For the Next Generation

Out of 100 family farms, only 30 will make it to the 2nd generation.

Twelve reach the 3rd generation.

Only 3 will reach the 4th generation.

There isn’t even a statistic for the 5th generation.

We’re Jerald, Jadie, and Joah - the founders of Bar J Farms and 4th-gen farmers - and we wanted to be an exception to the statistics.

So, we started selling our beef directly to families, not just to diversify, but to help make sure there’s a 5th generation here.

For us, it’s simple — raise beef we’re proud to put on our table and yours and keep the farm in the family for another generation.
